Don't like Winter

I will be so glad for Winter to finish up and Spring to arrive.  I am not a cold weather person.  I like sunshine, digging in the dirt, going hiking and just feeling the sun on my skin.  The calendar just turned over to 2020, another decade is gone.  In another decade 2030, I'm not even sure I'll still be here.  If life's problems will be over and life is good, I'd like to be here. But the Lord says he didn't promise easy times or a perfect world but He did say, He'd be here with us through all of it. Our kids are grown; their kids are grown; and our kids will be grandparents in a few years for sure. We are losing our high school friends, it was their time.  The Lord is keeping us here, it is not our time (yet). We have a lot of blessings and are thankful for each one.  My hobby of genealogy is still keeping me busy and have entered all my paper data into my computer. I have been going through all my papers, keepsakes and things I've saved for years and putting them in folders with our family's surnames on them.  We have between 8-10 Surnames and I've used Zip Lock Bags to divide the items up by surname so all the kids can just pull out their family keepsakes when that time comes. I'll be thankful for this school year to be over, for Ryan especially but also Elora and her first year of college.   Life has always been hard but the kids today have it especially hard, as the world is in a pitiful place and the Devil roams at random and hits every family in different ways.  We have to put on the armor of the Lord and fight hard.  Tomorrow is another day & eternity is right around the corner. Thank you Lord.

My granddaughter graduated from Reno High School, Reno, Nevada in June 2019.  Now she is a student at Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, Tennessee.  A long way from home but she is adjusting.  My grandson Ryan, is in 7th grade this year at an Academy in Charlotte, NC.  Jim and I have made several trips this summer, one being a seven day cruise to Bermuda and Grand Turk. We sure didn't want to come back. Going camping next weekend in the beautiful NC mountains.  Then I guess we'll be settling in for the Fall and Winter of 2019.  Hoping that 2020 is a blessed year.  Praying that the 2020 Presidential Election will prove Trump can win again.  God I pray your hand on this country as it is being taken down by the people who are Anti-Everything America.

I continue to work on my Family Ancestry.  I did my DNA about three months ago and it has opened up a whole new world of cousins and made more ancestors known to me.  It is my passion and I hope one day to find the elusive ones.
It had been almost a year since I have posted and a lot has happened in that year.  My grandkids and my kids are getting older.  My husband and I are too.  Life goes on.  My prayer remains the same and the Lord know what my prayer request are.
It is Spring and I am so happy to be out of another depressing Winter. I am not a Winter person.  In 2018 I hope to get all of my genealogy paperwork into my Family Tree Maker program and also to be able to continue to help others as they search their families.]
God is good.  Life is OK.  We are all one stepping stone to Paradise.

Today is June 4th and in about 2 weeks it will be SUMMER of 2017.  In some ways, this hasn't been such a good year so far - then in other ways it has been good.  The Lord keeps blessing us and I thank Him for it.
I miss my sister.  On July 3, it will be a year since she went to Heaven.  When she left, she took a big piece of me and my other sister with her.  I just wish that things could have progressed differently after her wreck and she could have gotten better.  But it was God's timing, not ours.  My prayers are for my granddaughter and grandson.  Also for my husband's grandchildren.  And, for all the children (3).  Bless us dear God.

Holidays 2016

It's almost another Christmas and it seems just yesterday we were having Christmas 2015.  We've had another year of change.  My youngest sister struggled through injuries from a horrific car accident on April 18th and passed away July 3.  We miss her so much, so many memories.
My daughter-in-law Mary got her Master's Degree and is teaching in high school now, and this has been a hard year for her; dealing with the kind of students that go to public schools today.  My grandson Ryan, who is 10 yrs 3 months, is doing good and I thank God for it, as it was all the Lord helping him to heal.  We are going to Disneyworld with my kids soon.  Are having Thanksgiving with my sister next week and Christmas with my daughter.  We had an election for President a few weeks ago and our candidate won.  I pray that he and his cabinet will bring some normality to our country, that has been going down the gutter of despair and loss of kindness, morals and values. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers.  God Bless America and we thank you God for our salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I have posted.  Today is June 6, 2016 and we have definitely had a busy and hectic year.  A nice fall in 2015 followed by a cold winter in 2016.  My youngest sister had an accident in April and was in the hospital for 6 weeks and is now in rehab.  Prayers that she is able to heal and get back to normal one day.
We did go to the Outer Banks in May.  It is a little slice of Heaven down there and I am so glad we got to go; got to fish in front of our house, on the ocean and the fresh water ponds.  We didn't fish at Okracoke this time but did spend the day there; On Hatteras we ate fresh seafood at Captains Table and had breakfast at the Orange Blossom Bakery one morning.  Shopping and sight-seeing was fun and we went to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Didn't climb it this time. My grandson is almost 10 and my granddaughter is 15 and 1/2.  Time goes by but thank the Lord for each day and for His art of all the summer flowers.
